The multiplayer game Dead by Daylight is a horror game developed by Canadian developers Behaviour Interactive, originally created for PC running Windows. However, there are now versions available for PlayStation and Xbox. The essence of Dead by Daylight is extremely simple – either survive or kill everyone in your path (depending on the chosen mode).
In the survival mode, immediately after launching Dead by Daylight, you find yourself in a closed location. It’s night outside. There are four survivors in total, and the main task is to escape from the killer (survivors see everything from a third-person perspective, while the killer sees from a first-person perspective). “Surviving” means escaping from the closed territory. This can only be achieved in two ways: repairing generators to activate switches and open metal doors with an electronic lock, or escaping through a hatch. There are two ways to reach this hatch. However, firstly, it may simply not open if there is more than one survivor left and only one generator has been repaired, and secondly, the hatch itself only appears when the number of working generators is one more than the number of survivors.
The killer mode is a bit simpler, but no less interesting. After choosing this mode in Dead by Daylight, you need to select a specific killer character, each of which has unique abilities. The killer is unable to crawl or run, but can move at a faster pace than the survivor. When stalking the survivors, the killer can eliminate their victims in two ways: either by hitting them twice with a weapon or by grabbing them when they attempt to repair a generator or escape through the hatch. Overall, it’s a quite interesting game.
