“Beat Saber” is a music game with elements of augmented reality. It was released in May 2019 and quickly gained a large audience on VR devices, especially on PlayStation VR. The gameplay is as simple as can be: to the beat of the music, you have to slice various colored objects and blocks. If you think it’s easy, you’re mistaken. The game offers a couple of difficulty levels, and if you choose the last two, “Expert” and “Expert+,” you’ll see just how cool this game is.
There are plenty of songs to play in the game. However, the problem is that most of the really cool tracks are locked, and the only way to unlock them is to buy them. This means that if you want more excitement, you’ll have to spend a little. In the level settings, you can not only choose your favorite song but also arrange all the objects according to your preferences. The freedom of choice here is amazing. However, it’s easy to get carried away with all the settings and different elements, and you can easily spend a lot of time on it. But that’s up to you.
The gameplay is as follows: you have to slice the cubes not just randomly but those that have the same color as your sword and only in one direction. The developers even went so far as to create a graphical display that calculates and shows the accuracy of your strikes, the angle of inclination, the size of the slice, and more. Impressive, isn’t it? In addition to all this, you’ll have obstacles to overcome while slashing the colored blocks. The developers deserve a big thank you for this.
