Introducing to you, perhaps the true classic, the bestseller in the action shooter genre. It’s “Battlefield: Bad Company” by the beloved and well-known Electronic Arts (EA). This version, out of all the Battlefield game series, has one cool feature. EA has created a real, full-fledged campaign here. As we all know, in other versions of Battlefield games, more preference was given to multiplayer with many players. But everything that we love about Battlefield games is fully present here.
A little bit about the plot:
Here’s the situation. Relations between the Russian Federation and the United States of America have significantly deteriorated. This, in turn, led to the beginning of a war. The collision point of the two states became a small territory in the Caucasus called Serdaristan. Starring are members of the 222nd battalion, which is called “Bad Company” in translation.
The name is not very pleasant for the enemies, but it is given for a reason. The battalion is made up of soldiers who are absolute pros in their work and cause a lot of trouble for the enemy. Once, a squad from the battalion was sent into combat, during which the entire squad was destroyed. At first, everyone, of course, thought it was Russia, but later it turned out that it was not the Russians at all. It was their hired mercenaries, whom they paid handsomely. After this incident, “Bad Company” switches to fighting mercenaries. And they can also find a bonus after winning battles – their gold and other resources.
Newbies and the team:
You play as the main character named Preston Marlowe. He joined the battalion just before the incident of the squad from “Bad Company” being destroyed. The commander of this battalion is Sergeant Samuel D. Redford. He is the only volunteer of “Bad Company.” In addition to him, there are two other key heroes – George Gordon Haggard Jr. (demolition expert) and Terrence Sweetwater (intellectual).
Gameplay:
You will have the following equipment in battles: two weapons (primary and secondary, which you can switch between). You will also have several grenades, a combat knife, and there may be other explosive devices that can be carried. You can repair any vehicle an infinite number of times until it is completely destroyed. If we consider the same military equipment, of course, as in any Battlefield, there is plenty of it here: tanks, APCs, helicopters, boats, combat vehicles, and that’s not all.
In “Battlefield: Bad Company,” EA used the Frostbite engine for the first time. Thanks to it, the game has gained a lot of possibilities, such as the destruction of almost the entire surrounding environment. You can destroy everything: from vehicles and houses to the ground and grass. It’s mind-blowing.
The game was released back in 2008 and has since pleased an incredible number of gamers from all over the world. Like all Battlefield game series, players loved “Battlefield: Bad Company” very much. It’s not surprising, as games like this in such quantity are incredibly rare. Even though the game is over 13 years old, it still has a lot of fans who hold the adventures of “Bad Company” close to their hearts.
